Father's Day

Today is Father's Day and I hope it's not my last with both of my "children". Once, many years ago when they were young a woman suggested that having them was a dry run for kids. But, I never had kids and I almost can't imagine doing so while they're still with me. I'd hate for them to feel displaced in any way.

While people, friends or strangers on the street, refer to me as their "daddy" it makes some kind of funny sense. But years ago, I realized as I have raised them on my own that I am at least just as much their mother.
